ULTA Ready Set Style Haircare Sampler Set Review

Hey everyone! Today’s Mommy Minute is going to be a review on the Ulta Ready Set Style Haircare Sampler Set! I talked about this during my Shopping For Freebies video (you can check that out here), and now that I’ve been able to test out these products, I decided to review them for you! This set retails for $8.99 and is currently out of stock, but you can choose to be notified when it returns to stock.

This set comes with five items:

Sun Bum 3 in 1 Leave In (4 FL OZ):

Our beach formula 3 in 1 Leave In protects, detangles and conditions your hair while enhancing and restoring its natural body. It controls frizz, prevents split ends, slows color fading and will leave your hair silky-smooth and shiny. It is, by far, the most “borrowed” item from our beach house.

For best results use Sun Bum Shampoo and Sun Bum Conditioner to wash and condition. Towel dry hair, then spray Sun Bum 3 in 1 Leave In two to three times, or more for longer hair, into your palms and rub your hands together to warm the product. Work the product through your hair with your fingers, starting just beyond the roots and through to the tips. Comb and style as normal.

My thoughts: I love Sun Bum products and they have the best scent ever. This made my hair feel softer and it did detangle nicely the couple of times I have used it. In this set, you get the full size, which alone is a $14.99 retail value. Their packaging is also the cutest 🙂

Psssst! Instant Dry Shampoo (1.76 FL OZ):

Psssst! The TRUE Original dry shampoo is the stylist’s secret to skipping shampoos for longer-lasting style. Lightweight, talc-free formula soaks up oils, sweat and product build-up, taking hair from dirty, flat and matte to refreshed and revived. Water not required; just spray, brush and go for hair that feels and smells freshly shampooed! Directions: Stash in your gym bag, work bag, or overnight bag.

Shake can vigorously and hold 6″ to 8″ from hair. Lift sections of hair and lightly spray scalp and roots. Shake can between sprays for best results. Wait a few minutes, then brush and style as desired. Air Travel Friendly.

My thoughts: I love that this is a travel size that you can go to Ulta and buy (retail is $2.99). I am a big fan of the Psssst! Dry Shampoo. I have very dark hair and this doesn’t leave a white cast at all, it makes my hair look more natural when I haven’t washed it that day and it really does help with product build-up if you’re using products more then one day in a row without washing.

Not Your Mother’s Naturals Royal Honey & Kalahari Desert Melon Leave-In Conditioner (2 FL OZ):

A delicious blend of Royal Honey & Kalahari Desert Melon reconstructs damaged hair so it retains vibrancy and restores resiliency. This repair & protect leave-in conditioner will amplify softness and maximize smoothness and prepare hair for a healthful, happy style.

Apply to damp, towel dried hair. Comb through. Proceed with style as desired.

My thoughts: I love the entire Not Your Mother’s brand. There hasn’t been a product that I have tried that I haven’t absolutely loved and their Naturals line is seriously some of the best drugstore hair care eveeer! Everything I’ve tried has smelled amazing and worked incredibly well. This leave-in conditioner really makes my hair feel smoother and silkier, and the smell can’t be beat.

Batiste Dry Shampoo Cherry (1.6 FL OZ):

Batiste Dry Shampoo is the quick and convenient way to get soft, clean and fresh smelling hair, without water. Batiste offers an instant fix by revitalizing greasy, dull and lifeless hair. Batiste thickens thin fly-away hair and adds texture and body for that easy style solution. Simply spray it on and comb it out.

Shake can vigorously. Spray evenly over hair, massage into scalp with fingertips, let sit a few moments and brush out preferably using a natural bristle brush.

My thoughts: I couldn’t find the cherry scent on the Ulta website, so I linked to the travel size Original scent. This bottle is the size of the travel size, which retails for $3.99. I really enjoy the Psssst! Dry Shampoo, but Batiste is my holy grail. I have several full sizes and I have used several full sizes. It’s the dry shampoo I always go back to for the perfect helper on no-wash days. And the cherry scent is such a nice plus!

John Frieda Frizz Ease Secret Weapon Touch-Up Creme (1 FL OZ):

Transform parched hair into smooth, flowing hair with this styling creme. Its conditioning, moisturizing formula replaces your hair’s natural oils lost to blow drying and abuse. Your hair will have continuous, 24-hour conditioning and a sleek, shiny look.

Apply to dried hair. Take a small amount of creme and rub into palms of hands. Smooth through hair, distributing evenly. Apply more as needed.

My thoughts: I use this touch-up creme as a solution to those little fly-away baby hairs around my hairline. I have a huge problem with those and this creme is a nice way to smooth those baby hairs down so I don’t look like an extra from the Gremlins. It works well and you don’t need to much (at least when you use it the way I do). The full size is also very affordable at $6.99!

What do you think of these products? Have you ever tried any of them? What is your favorite dry shampoo?
