ULTA So Natural, So Fresh Haircare Sampler Review

Hey everyone! Today’s Mommy Minute is going to be a review of the Ulta So Natural, So Fresh Haircare Sampler! This isn’t showing up as available on the ULTA website any longer, but I figured the review could still be helpful if you have any interest in any of the products that were available in this kit. This kit originally retailed for $9.99.

This set comes with 6 items:

Matrix Biolage R.A.W. Uplift Shampoo (1.7 FL OZ):

Formulated with black sesame and grapefruit, purifies flat, fine hair without stripping. 70% natural-origin. 99% biodegradable. no silicones. no parabens. no artificial colorants. traceable ingredient source. Apply to wet hair with a massaging motion. Follow with uplift conditioner.

My Thoughts: This is available on the Ulta website for $19.50 for an 11 oz bottle, which isn’t a terrible price. It has a nice scent, but my favorite thing about this is how natural it is. I love using natural products, but I find a lot of them don’t work as well. This one really does live up to its claims and it is something I would repurchase.

Matrix Biolage R.A.W. Uplift Conditioner (1.7 FL OZ):

Conditions flat, fine hair with kiwi and kaolin clay for increased body without weight. 95% natural-origin. 99% biodegradable. no silicones. no parabens. no artificial colorants. traceable ingredient source. After uplift shampoo, apply to wet hair. Leave in 1-2 minutes. Rinse thoroughly.

My Thoughts: This is available on the Ulta website for $19.50 for an 11 oz bottle as well, which is nice to me as I find most time conditioners are a tad bit more expensive. I loved the scent of this and I think that this complments the shampoo very nicely when used together, but it also works just as well by itself.

AG Hair Balance Apple Cider Vinegar Sulfate-Free Shampoo (2 FL OZ):

Formulated with over 98% plant-based, naturally derived ingredients, AG’s Balance sulfate-free shampoo gently cleanses the hair and scalp. Organic apple cider vinegar naturally closes the hair cuticle for additional shine and organic argan oil and aloe vera help further smooth and moisturize. AG’s exclusive blend of rosemary, lavender, lemongrass and clary sage essential oils provide a natural fragrance and the benefits of aromatherapy. Ideal for all hair types, perfect for colour-treated hair. Massage into wet hair. Rinse and repeat as desired.

My Thoughts: This is available on the Ulta website for $28.00 for a 12 oz bottle, which is a bit pricier then the Matrix products. I do have a really big love for apple cider vinegar haircare products though. One of the upcoming products is an all-time favorite of mine. This shampoo is really nice, especially when you need some of the apple cider vinegar benefits that it provides.

AG Hair Boost Apple Cider Vinegar Conditioner (2 FL OZ):

Formulated with over 98% plant-based, naturally derived ingredients, AG’s Boost conditioner combines coconut oil, mango seed butter, rapeseed oil, rosehip oil, olive leaf extract, shea butter and hydrolyzed quinoa with the abundant benefits of organic apple cider vinegar to help nourish, detangle, smooth the hair cuticle and seal in moisture. A blend of rosemary, lemongrass, clary sage and vanilla essential oils provide natural fragrance and the benefits of aromatherapy. Ideal for all hair types, perfect for colour-treated hair. Massage into clean, damp hair for 1-3 minutes. Comb through. Rinse.

My Thoughts: This is available on the Ulta website for $28.00 for a 12 oz bottle, as well. I seriously cannot explain to you how good apple cider vinegar is for your hair, and I love that you can get it in shampoos and conditioners now, instead of just rinses. I strongly suggest trying this, especially if you have color treated hair. It works really well at removing build-up of products without stripping your color.

dpHUE Apple Cider Vinegar Rinse (1 FL OZ):

dpHUE is all about maintaining fresh color between salon visits. Apple Cider Vinegar has been used since ancient times for hair and scalp care. dpHUE has taken this power ingredient, infused it with Argan Oil, Lavender Extract, Aloe Vera and more and brought it to a whole new level. dpHUE Apple Cider Vinegar Hair Rinse is a shampoo and conditioner substitute that cleanses and removes impurities from your hair and scalp while protecting your hair color.

My Thoughts: This is available on the Ulta website for $35.00 for 8.5 FL OZ. I seriously need you to go buy this. I’ve used several of these 1 oz bottles, and I myself need to run out and purchase the full size. It works so well though. It gets rid of build-up from other products and really does add this protection-like feel to your hair. If you try any of these products, let it be this one!

AG Hair Rosehip Balm (0.34 FL OZ):

Formulated with over 98% plant-based, naturally derived ingredients, Rosehip Balm makes both blow-drying and air drying easier. Hair feels instantly smoother and more manageable. Cold-pressed Rosehip oil, rich in essential fatty acids, helps smooth, calm and seal the hair cuticle. AG’s exclusive blend of essential oils provides natural fragrance and the benefits of aromatherapy. Ideal for medium to thick and/or color-treated hair. Apply a quarter sized amount to clean, damp hair (focusing more on ends), comb hair and blow or air dry. Style as usual.

My Thoughts: This is available on the Ulta website for $28.00 for a 3 oz tube, which I think is fair since you need so little of the product. My issue is this though: I really didn’t like this. The scent is okay, it’s not an overpowering scent of rose, I just don’t think it lived up to its claims and it just made my hair feel thick and greasy. This one is an easy pass for me.

What do you guys think of this set? Have you tried any of these products? Do you like apple cider vinegar hair products?
