Hey everyone! Today’s Mommy Minute is going to be a review of the February 2018 Degustabox!
+ Links may be affiliate or referral links.
Degustabox is a subscription box that sends out a variety of shelf-stable food items, some which are new to the market. You won’t always be able to find these items in stores yet! Degustabox is $19.99 a month, but if you use this link (this is a referral link!), you can save $10.00 off of your first month!
This month’s theme is The Big Game, which is fitting for the month obviously, but especially for a food subscription box.
Their information sheet is always very useful for tips and ideas.
The back of the information sheet also normally includes some recipes using some of this month’s products! Now onto the goodies!
+ Goya Casero Refried Black Beans, $1.39. ($1.22 on HEB website).
Goya’s top quality black beans, cooked and seasoned for easy preparation of this classic and delicious Mexican side dish. Ready in just minutes!
I’m not a huge fan of beans, but Kylor loves them so this will definitely be a nice side dish for him the next time we do a taco night for dinner!
+ Goya Traditional Refried Pinto Beans, $1.09.
You can’t go wrong with a classic: authentic, chunky-smooth, cholesterol-free GOYA Refried Pinto Beans.
Sadly, this is also a bummer product for me, but Kylor and the kids will be all over it, so all hope is not lost. It’s nice that they get to try out different brands of beans with this box, so either way I’m happy 🙂
+ LUNA Whole Nutrition Bar in LemonZest, $1.39 for a full-sized bar.
LUNA Whole Nutrition Bars are crafted to help keep you nourished throughout your busy day and give you the energy to break through. Each bar is a delicious, gluten-free snack that’s perfect between meals.
I love having these around the house for quick snacks and in between meals, especially while I’m breastfeeding. Degustabox sent 3 mini bars, so I would guess that they are equivalent or larger then one full size bar if you were to put them together, so I’m going to be keeping the value of a full size bar. The lemon flavoring is delicious and these are a great, healthy treat.
With perfectly paired creamy white cheddar and a hint of garlic, our Aged White Cheddar chips are as good as your imagination hopes they’ll be. Keep your feet on the ground and your taste buds in the sky, and most importantly, enjoy every bite.
I love having these healthier tortilla chip alternatives on hand for my kids for snack time, or for nacho night when we choose to have that for dinner. These are really yummy and I love that they Degustabox always includes products like this that really help us branch out and try new things.
+ Sir Kensingtons Spicy Ketchup, $4.99.
Sir Kensington’s Spicy Ketchup features chipotle peppers, cilantro, lime juice, and hint of coriander. Spicy enough to amuse the taste buds, it packs a pleasing punch without sinking the ship.
I love Sir Kensingtons condiments after being introduced to several through this box. This Spicy Ketchup does not disappoint. It isn’t mouth burning, but it definitely has a nice kick to it. I love having an alternative to regular ketchup. This is one of my favorite products this month!
Mrs. Renfro’s tasty salsa with Rahr & Sons amber lager delivers a unique and bold flavor. Use it as a dip, marinade, or chili base. You’ll find it’s versatile and delicious!
This is a product that I haven’t tried yet. The back of the information sheet included a recipe for Texas Tavern Salsa Chicken using this and I really want to make that for dinner one night, I just have to get the rest of the ingredients. It looks and sounds delicious though, and Kylor is down for anything made with beer so I’m hoping this is a winner!
Inspired by Thai cuisine. The Spice Hunter’s Coriander Lime Global Fusion Rub adds a fragrant, citrusy flavor that’s delicious on chicken, tofu or fish.
This is another product I haven’t tried yet because I really want to use this on some grilled chicken. It sounds and smells amazing so I’m really excited for it! I love adding new twists on classics like grilled chicken. We are a family that loves spices and seasonings, so this is right up our alley.
+ Boboli 12-Inch Thin Crust, $3.99.
Prefer a thin pizza crust? Look no further than our 12-inch ready-made thin pizza crust for delicious results, from entree pizzas to pizza appetizers, and dessert pizzas.
I am a huge fan of thin crust pizza and I love having these on hand to make the kids a quick and easy pizza for lunch. This will definitely get used, my only concern is the expiration date. This showed up with a Best By date of February 14th, so I know it’s good for a few days after that but the date was only a few days after I received my box.
+ Tiger Tail Classic Mustard, $1.99.
Small Batch Mustard, Crafted in Dyersburg, Tennessee. Where each Bite tells the Tale of TIGERTAIL. Inspired by Tradition and made of only the Highest Quality Ingredients. Packaged with Southern Pride.
I love mustard and this one came with a really interesting sandwich recipe on the back of the little card included. I might have to try it with that recipe soon. Either way, this is a delicious, high-quality mustard that I am pleased to have in my fridge.
My only concern with this is that the cap is damaged. I might e-mail Degustabox, but so far it seems to be holding up okay.
+ Boboli Pizza Sauce, $2.75.
If you like our pizza crust, you’ll love our pizza sauce. Flavored with garlic and onion, Italian-style, it’s the perfect topping for any 12-inch pizza.
I use this sauce a lot when I make the kids pizza for lunch, so I already know I’m a fan. I love the convenience of the 3 individual sauce packets so that I don’t have to open an entire jar of pizza sauce. This is a definite win for me.
I think this month was a great box! It included some great pantry staples that we can always use as well as some new products and tons of great recipes that I can’t wait to try! I love Degustabox and always look forward to trying out some new meal ideas every month!
I paid $19.99 for $31.36 of products!
What do you think of this month’s box? How do you feel about food products made with beer?
