Hey everyone! Today’s Mommy Minute is going to be a review of the February 2018 Beautyfix by Dermstore box!

BeautyFix is a subscription box owned by Dermstore. It costs $24.95 a month and is a beauty box that focuses on skincare.
This month’s theme is Red Carpet Ready.
Ballots are in and red carpet season is in full swing. You know the biggest questions you’ll be asking are:
What is she using? How do I get my hands on it?
Luckily, our beauty experts curated this box with the glam tricks and hits starlets use behind the scenes so that you can steal the spotlight this season.
This box feels a bit light to me, and overall I’m still debating this subscription, but I’m keeping it for now. This one is just always teetering on the edge of cancelling for me.
Ever wonder how your favorite glamazon shows up to the show looking completely refreshed and renewed? The secret is in this mask from premier Beverly Hills dermatologist to the stars, Dr. Lancer. Apple stem cell coupled with hyaluronic acid visibly tones, tightens and firms your skin. Use it before your next event to turn heads.
Holy Hell, ya’ll. This mask is sold in sets of four for $120.00. That’s crazy talk, especially to someone like me who can’t stand spending $5.00 on a single sheet mask. This mask is super saturated and feels really nice on the skin. I don’t see any noticeable difference as far as toning or tightening goes after just one use, but my skin does feel more renewed and refreshed. I definitely wouldn’t buy this for the price, but it’s really nice to get in a box.
+ Manna Kadar Cosmetics Glo Illuminator, $29.00.
Makeup can do amazing things but, as the experts tell us, it all starts with your glowing base. This allover highlighter illuminates your skin for that enviable radiating-from-within complexion. Plus, it works beautifully when mixed in with your foundation.
This is the fourth tube of this that I have received in subscription boxes. I’m not even kidding. It’s a nice product and all, but I have no interest in using up four whole tubes. Especially of a liquid highlighter, where the teeniest amount goes the longest way. This particular tube I’ll be putting up for swap. However, I do like this. It’s really pretty and it blends into the skin nicely.
+ Elon Lanolin Rich Nail Conditioner, $14.99.
A perfectly manicured set of nails look amazing on and off the screen. As time wears on with filing and gel treatments, it’s important to give your mani the same TLC you give your skin. This conditioning formula helps prevent cracking, splitting and other not-so-camera-friendly nail concerns.
This is another full size product! This is actually much nicer than I expected. It’s also much thicker than I expected. It has a slight minty smell to it. It sinks into my nails nicely and I am noticing a difference in the appearance of my nails and how they feel. I’m really liking this nail conditioner.
+ Nick Chavez Horsetail Root Lifting Spray (2 FL OZ), $9.00.
Ready to be the mane attraction at your viewing party? It starts with a helpful lift from this styling spray. Horsetail extract and volumizing ingredients add instant height and drama to your hair. The upshot? A style even your favorite starlet will want to emulate.
I really love Nick Chavez hair products and I use a root lifting spray every day! This one works really well and adds a lot of volume to my hair without making it look overdone. This is definitely a win for me and the price is decent for a travel size, high-end haircare product.
+ REN Ready Steady Glow Daily AHA Tonic (1.7 FL OZ), $7.00.
What’s trending in the award season gifting suites? Popular and potent natural skin care. Cocktailed to alleviate fine lines, acne and visible pores, this newcomer breathes new life to your complexion. Use day and night for skin that’s renewed, refreshed and totally red carpet ready.
REN is another brand that I love. This is a really great product for toning the skin. It makes my skin feel cleaner and smoother and I did notice a difference in how my pores looked, which I was really impressed with.
+ Replenix Retinolforte Treatment Serum 3X (0.35 FL OZ), ?
Botox in a bottle without ever having to visit the derm’s office, a retinol treatment is a go-to for A-listers and film fans alike. This potent formula features a powerful combination of antioxidants and caffeine so that your skin may be protected and renewed all at once.
I actually wasn’t able to find this on the Dermstore website by itself, so I don’t have a link to the product. Unfortunately, this does contain retinol, which you can’t use while pregnant or breastfeeding, so this is kind of a wasted product to me. I’ll be putting this up for swap and I hope someone else who is looking for it is able to enjoy it.
+ La Roche-Posay Lipikar Daily Repair Moisturizing Lotion (0.5 FL OZ), $0.67.
Your last, moisturizing step may be the most important when it comes to a red carpet complexion. This one not only nourishes winter skin, but brings forth a soft, silky texture that will help you glow throughout the season.
This is another brand I love! This is a great moisturizer that really goes give my skin a nice glow while also keeping it soft and silky smooth, even during the end of these winter months. I’m super pleased with this, and it’s a new-to-me product from La Roche-Posay!
I’m so torn on this subscription. I really love it when they don’t send retinol products. But, I’m sure the mass majority likes retinol products, so I don’t blame them at all. I just try to keep these reviews as honest as possible for you guys. I really love the products I can use, but then some of the higher value products are duds for me so I really don’t know how much longer I’ll be keeping this subscription, but it is safe for another month.
I paid $24.95 for $90.66 worth of products, not including the Replenix product!
You can purchase this box as a one-time purchase here for $34.95.
What do you think of this box? Do you use retinol based products?
