Like every month, Look Fantastic included the current issue of ELLE UK magazine, which is always fun to read through.
+ Caudalie Vinosource SOS Thirst Quenching Serum (0.33 FL OZ), $16.17.
Calling all those with dry and sensitive skin! This is the latest addition to the Caudalie Vinosource family and it is a little gem. With this extra cold weather, your skin can get dehydrated very quickly, so it is important for you to add some moisture to your routine. This serum diffuses water to restore moisture balance and leave your skin soft and supple. The extra grape water and hyaluronic acid added in the formula will give your complexion a radiant and dewy look.
On clean skin, use it morning and night before applying your moisturizer.
With the ability to revitalise your skin on its own, try using as a makeup base – it makes the perfect primer!
I have actually tried this before. In fact, I have a few samples of this already. It really is a little gem. It soaks into skin beautifully and provides an amazing source of hydration no matter how dry my skin feels beforehand. I really love this and it’s a great serum for any skin type, in my opinion.
+ Filorga Meso-Mask (0.5 FL OZ), $29.50.
This mask is a real super star product and here’s why: it will give your complexion radiance and luminosity, whilst also diminishing the appearance of wrinkles and helping to prevent them. It will also relieve your face of any signs of fatigue and even out your skin tone. All of this magic in a cream texture with extra easy application. What’s not to like?
Apply a generous amount to your face, neck, decollete and eye contour, leave for 15-30 minutes, then remove using a damp cotton wool pad.
We like to leave the mask for the whole night to allow the skin to fully absorb all the goodness from this mask! Rinse your face in the morning with warm water to reveal true radiance and start your routine!
Cream masks are always really interesting to me in this era of peel-off masks, sheet masks and charcoal masks. They’re much gentler on the skin in my opinion, but I don’t feel as if all of them do much. This one does a really nice job, however. This is a bit of a pricier mask. Normally I wouldn’t expect to pay this cost for a facial mask, but this one really does pull through with its claims, at least based on first impressions. I can’t wait to continue using it!
+ Dr. Pawpaw Original Multipurpose Clear Balm (0.35 FL OZ), $4.11.
If you are not already familiar with this multipurpose balm, then let us introduce you to the Dr. Pawpaw family! These little tubes might look small but they are oh-so powerful! They can be used wherever your skin needs hydration, literally. On your lips (duh), on your face if you have a few dry patches, elbows, feet, cuticles, as a nappy cream, for sun burn, skin irritations – you get the picture! In this month’s Beauty Box, you will find the Original Dr. Pawpaw multipurpose soothing balm, containing three fabulous, all-natural ingredients: fermented Pawpaw fruit (papaya), Aloe Vera and Olive Oil, making this balm a natural beauty must-have!
Just apply it on your lips and everywhere else you need!
We like to use it as a highlighter during the day. If you just pat a pea size amount on the top of your cheekbones, it will look like the most gorgeous, dewy highlight. If you want to go a bit bolder, try it on your eyelids and say hi to a gorgeous glossy look.
I’m starting to notice a trend in this box – hydration. Now I will say, this is an incredibly hydrating product. I’ve used it in several different ways (although, not as a highlighter like the information booklet recommends – I must try that) and my only real complaint so far is the grease factor. I feel like this is far too greasy to be a daily use product for me. I know this is beginning to get a cult following, but that’s just something I can’t get past so I probably won’t be rushing out to replace this tube when I run out of it.
+ Bellapierre Shimmer Roll in Champagne (2G), ?
The perfect product to complete your rendezvous look! This easy-application shimmer roll will leave you with an instant glow whenever you need to add some glam to your look! We selected a color that could work on all skin types – whether it is applied as an eyeshadow or as a highlighter.
You can use to help create a full look by applying all over the eyelid or use just a touch in the middle of the eyelid to make any color underneath pop out. When blended in, it makes a perfect highlighter too so be sure to add a touch of sparkle to those cheekbones as well!
Speaking of that sparkle, try and add some on your collar bones – when you wear a decollete it’s such a nice touch to add some glamour and shine to your outfit!
I can’t actually find this product online. I can find a shimmer powder by this brand, but since this is packaged as roll on product, I didn’t link to it. In my opinion, those are two separate products. Either way, this is a beautiful shimmer. It rolls on really nicely and smoothly and does have a nice color to it. I don’t think it’s overly shimmery, but I think it is beautiful as a highlight or an eyeshadow. This is a win for me!
+ Trifle Cosmetics Sublime Lip Scrub in Sugar Pear (0.34 FL OZ), $17.95.
A crunchy sugar scrub that will make your lips as soft as butter. It is formulated with Cacao Butter, Sweet Almond Oil and Pecan Seed Oil so that it hydrates and nourishes your lips while taking away all dead skin cells. To make this product even more heavenly, it is infused with toffee mixture and pear extract – your lips will thank you for this little treat!
Scoop some product with your fingers and using circular motions scrub your lips until smooth. Wash it off with some water.
We like to use lip scrub once a week to make sure our lips are nice and soft. It is also a non-negotiable step when applying red lipstick! It will help the lipstick to last longer on your lips!
This is a full size product! It’s a smaller tube, so that was a bit surprising to me. It has the most amazing smell ever. Like seriously, I’m dying over here. It has a really nice grit to it and it does a really great job at exfoliating my lips, so I’m good!
+ Elemis Pro-Collagen Marine Cream (0.5 FL OZ), $40.00.
A bestseller within the skincare world, this cream is as famous as Chanel Numero 5. This cream is perfect for all skin types and is designed to increase hydration and help improve the appearance of dull skin and fine lines. Super hydrating yet not sticky, the lightweight formula makes it perfect applied as a primer. The powerful anti-aging ingredients of the award-winning Pro-Collagen Marine Cream have been shown to reduce the depth of wrinkles, improve skin firmness and hydration in as little as 14 days.
If you have a full skincare routine, then this cream is best applied after the serum or oil. Just a pea size amount is needed as the formula is concentrated and super light, place onto your hands and warm together before application. Then gently smooth over the face, neck and decollete every morning.
Holy s*it ya’ll, that price. I really, seriously adore high end skincare like this, as self-absorbed as that may sound. (Hey, we all have guilty pleasures, right?) This is an amazing cream. I can’t speak for the wrinkles claim because I’m 25 and have only been using this for a week, but other then that I totally get why people pay crazy cash for products like this!
I do find it a bit weird that I can’t locate that shimmer roll on anywhere, including the Look Fantastic website, but it’s whatever. I love the fact that this subscription includes a magazine because that just adds to the luxe self-care feel I get from this box. The value is always amazing and it’s awesome being introduced to things that aren’t readily available in the US.
I paid $16.00 for $107.73 worth of products, not including the Shimmer Roll and the magazine.
What do you think of this box? Would you ever pay $128.00 for a Marine Cream?
