March 2018 BeautyFIX Review!

Hey everyone! Today’s Mommy Minute is going to be a review of the March 2018 BeautyFIX subscription box!

BeautyFix is a subscription box owned by Dermstore. It costs $24.95 a month and is a beauty box that focuses on skincare. Each month, you’ll receive a curated collection of innovative and professional makeup, skin and hair care products handpicked by beauty experts and delivered right to your door.

This month’s theme is Spring Refresh!

Fields of flowers, clear blue skies and the glowing sun peeking over the horizon – spring is in full bloom. And with the new season comes spring cleaning. Before you bust out your beautifully written chore list and broom, first and foremost, let’s draw the focus on you. Detoxifying masks, ultra-reparative creams, high-powered eye masks and professional self-care essentials were selected in this month’s box so that you can be prepped and refreshed for whatever comes your way. After you get done decluttering your vanity top shelf, you’ll definitely welcome these new additions!

Dermstore sent out an e-mail to subscribers this month that read:

We want to thank you for being a part of our BeautyFIX™ family. We work hard to put together beauty and skin care products backed by professional ingredients and prestige. During the process, mistakes – albeit rare – can happen.

After the March BeautyFIX was shipped out for delivery, it came to our attention that the incorrect size for the Peter Thomas Roth Irish Moor Mud Mask was included in the box. This was our mistake and we sincerely apologize for the mix up.

Please accept this $25 gift towards your next beauty splurge at as our way of making it up to you.

I think that this is a very nice show of customer service! I’m very happy with how they corrected their mistake.

+ Peter Thomas Roth Irish Moor Mud (0.5 FL OZ), $5.80.

Just in time for St. Paddy’s Day, it only makes sense that this deep-cleaning, Irish mud mask would be featured on the top of our list. A 9,000 year old Moor mud formula helps to remove impurities and excess oil for a radiantly smooth complexion.

I’m stoked to see a Peter Thomas Roth mask in this box! I always have great luck with his masks and this is one I’ve never tried before. This is the product that was referenced in the above e-mail, although I’m unaware of the size they were supposed to send. Either way, this brand has never steered me wrong when it comes to masks and mud masks are my favorite after sheet masks so I’m a happy mama!

+ First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream Vanilla Citron (2 OZ), $12.00.

Pamper yourself head-to-toe with comforting moisture. From the cult classic Ultra Repair Cream line, it alleviates symptoms of eczema and protects your skin barrier, leaving your skin soft, soothed, and hydrated.

The First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream is my holy grail lotion. There’s just one thing that I can’t stand about it – the scent. I’m typically willing to overlook that because it works so well. So, you can imagine my excitement when they came out with scented varieties. This is more a whipped texture then the original formula, but the hydration is still there. The scent isn’t a huge difference from the original, but it does have a slightly nicer smell.

+ Harry Josh Pro Tools Carbon Tail Comb, $20.00.

A premium salon-quality comb with a heat-resistant design? This compact, travel-friendly tail comb makes it possible. A multipurpose must-have for your hair styling needs, it helps section off your hair as well as delivering a smooth, sleek finish.

I actually use one of these combs every day when I style my hair and it’s about time for my current one to retire, so this was a great treat! I always find these come in handy, regardless of what hairstyle I’m doing that day (which, let’s be honest – is 99% of the time the same hairstyle). This is incredibly useful and something I’ve never had a “high-end” version of, so it’s a great treat!

+ R+CO Cactus Texturizing Shampoo (1 FL OZ), $4.16.

Refresh your tresses and pump up the volume with this shampoo. Natural ingredients build texture in lifeless locks, while absorbing excess oil and gently removing impurities. Plus, it echos the scents of spring.

I seriously freaked out when I saw this in the box this month. R+CO is one of my holy grail hair care brands and this is a brand new product to me – and it smells amaaazing! I literally have a ton of their products on my Amazon wishlist right now, so I’m so excited to get to try a brand new one! And seriously, the scent? I need this in a perfume, like now.

+ Erno Laszlo Multi-Task Eye Serum Mask (1 COUNT), $5.83.

Long hours of spring cleaning can lead to some major signs of fatigue. Patch up restless woes with this eye mask. Designed as a unique hydro-gel, it works to reduce under-eye dark circles, puffiness, fine lines and wrinkles all at once. Welcome the day bright-eyed, and no one will be the wiser.

Yet another brand that I love! I haven’t used this mask yet – I prefer to use these under-eye patches along with a lip mask for a mini pamper session. But, I am definitely excited about an eye mask that claims to reduce the look of fatigue. As a mom of three children, that’s something that is always welcome in my life.

+ Dermalogica Sound Sleep Cocoon (0.34 FL OZ), $16.00.

Just launched from one of the most covetable skin care brands, this new innovation from Dermalogica is your all-in-one treatment for skin hibernation transformation(ho said hibernation has to end in winter?). A revitalizing gel-cream formula creates a nourishing “cocoon” of comfort to soothe, brighten and renew.

And yet another one of my favorite brands – they are absolutely killing it this month! This product hasn’t been released yet, it is set to launch on March 15. I think that’s awesome that we received it early in our boxes – such a luxe feeling. I love gel-creams and this feels incredibly luxurious on the skin. It is very soothing and incredibly hydrating. I can’t wait for the official launch!

+ Bioderma Sensibio Foaming Gel (1.5 FL OZ), $3.35.

A gentle cleanser is hard to find for sensitive skin types. This one hits the target. Formulated with reparative vitamin E, its mild and soothing ingredients help calm irritation while improving your skin’s hydration levels.

Alright, last time I promise. I love this brand. Their micellar water is to die for. This cleanser foams up nicely and leaves my skin feeling clean without being too drying or stripping away my skins natural oils. I don’t personally have sensitive skin, but I can definitely see why it would work well for that skin type.

+ Nuface Prep-N-Glow Cloths (1 CLOTH), $1.00.

Busy schedules can get the best of us. That means there’s not always time to do a multi-step cleansing ritual. This cloth cleanses, exfoliates and hydrates on the go. With polishing micro-dots for gentle exfoliation and hydrating hyaluronic acid, it’s an essential for between work and play.

I have actually received these before and I really do like them. They exfoliate, but not too harshly and do a great job at removing my face makeup. They are kinda costly for each cloth, but I do think that the efficiency of these makes up for the premium cost of them.  It’s not something I’d buy for myself since I do have cheaper alternative that do the job for me, but I’ll gladly use them when I receive them in subscription boxes.

+ V76 by Vaughn Detox Body Bar (1 OZ), $2.80.

To round it all out, we’re bringing you something for the neck down. Designed as a bar for optimal travel convenience, it purifies and detoxifies your skin with a natural blend of mineral clay. And although it’s made for men, we won’t tell if you swipe it from him when he’s not looking.

I’m not personally a fan of bar soap, so I don’t have much of an interest in trying this out. I will however, pass this along to my husband who tends to enjoy this type of thing.

This was another great box from BeautyFIX. I tend to enjoy their curation and even if it isn’t the most exciting box every month, it’s always very useful items. They have great customer service and amazing value every month.

I paid $24.95 for $70.94 worth of products and a $25 coupon code to the Dermstore website.

Have you ever had a bad customer service experience with Dermstore? What is your favorite Peter Thomas Roth product?
