Spring 2018 Rachel Zoe Box of Style Review!

Hey everyone! Today’s Mommy Minute is going to be a review of the Spring 2018 Rachel Zoe Box of Style!

The Rachel Zoe Box of Style is a seasonal subscription box from The Zoe Report. Each box includes a hero item which is revealed before boxes ship, and other fashionable items and accessories, plus a few beauty products and styling tools, too. The cost is $99.99 per quarter.

You can save $10 off of your first box if you purchase through this link.

I will give Rachel Zoe props, this is always one of the best unboxing experiences. It’s always so gorgeous.

This month we received a 0.04 FL OZ sample of Proenza Schouler Arizona Eau de Parfum. Based on the cost of a 50 mL bottle, this sample is worth about $2.40. It’s cost a nice scent, but I’m not super into these little perfume samples. I pass most of them along.

I seriously love the pattern of the tissue paper this month!

This month’s theme is California Edition.

When it comes to style, California evokes a very unique feeling – glamorous yet casual, polished yet undone, modern yet classic. For this edition, I wanted to pay homage to this one-of-a-kind place I am lucky to call home. I curated this edition with all California-founded brands to put you in that golden state of mind wherever you reside.

Everything in this box is always wrapped individually, so it really is like a beautiful present every month.

Box of Style is starting a new loyalty program called the Inner Circle! There’s a lot of great information about it on their website.

But for now, let’s get to the items:

+ Rachel Zoe Collection Palm Print Duster, $150.00.

Nothing epitomizes California glamour like an effortless duster in a playful print. This is the ultimate ode to West Coast cool.

The versatile silhouette can be styled countless ways, with a slip dress or even denim and a tee. For a more tailored fit, you can cinch it with your favorite belt.

I legit couldn’t wait for my husband to help with these pictures, so excuse the quality. This thing is amazing though! I do believe it’s an exclusive to this box, although I did see it for sale on some eBay shops if you’re really interested. This is a beautiful, well made duster that seems to be of excellent quality. I love the print on this and I can’t wait to wear this on lazy summer days!

+ Bonnie Clyde The Hill Exclusive Sunglasses, $64.00.

A little bit Audrey Hepburn and a little bit Twiggy, these playful sunnies make me want to jump into a vintage convertible and hit the open road.

The modern twist on a neutral works with any look. Timeless round lenses suit a variety of face shapes.

These are gorgeous sunglasses. I do believe this color combination is exclusive to this box, so I linked to a similar pair available on Nordstrom. Unfortunately, I wear regular glasses so sunglasses do me very little good. Which means these will either be passed on or placed up for swap.

Kopari Lip Love, $12.00.

I never leave the house without an ultra-moisturizing lip product. Treating your pout throughout the day is an absolute must, because parched lips are not chic.

The glossy finish is perfect alone to enhance your natural lip color or over your go-to lipstick for added shine. Made with all-natural coconut oil and shea butter, it’s super hydrating and never sticky.

This smells delicious. I love coconut scents. It’s very moisturizing and hydrating and I love lip products packaged in these little tubes because it makes it so convenient to just toss in my purse and take on the go with me.

+ Kopari Coconut Rose Toner, $24.00.

Winter depletes moisture from skin, so a gentle toner is a must in your spring skincare arsenal. Feels like a spa with each spray!

Applied on a fresh face after cleansing, it tightens pores and preps skin for serum or moisturizer. Spritz it over makeup as a hydrating setting spray throughout the day.

I was a little concerned by the scent of this when I first pulled out the box. Coconut and rose? Together? But ya’ll, seriously. This smells amazing. I want this in a perfume. I love both of these scents but it doesn’t sound like a good combination and boy, was I wrong. It’s a really nice toner, too. It feels refreshing and luxe on the skin and really does a nice job of adding some additional hydration to parched skin after a rough winter.

+ Lili Claspe Rope the Moon Lariat Exclusive (Gold Plated), $115.00.

This simple yet stunning lariat was designed exclusively for Box of Style members as the ideal finishing touch – it complements everyone’s unique style, worn alone or layered with your favorite pieces.

Trend to try: Celestial symbols are having a major moment – work them into your wardrobe with this subtle sparkle. Stack with bold pieces or other dainty chains to get the neck party started.

I really like celestial symbols, especially in jewelry so I think that this is gorgeous. It has several different lengths you can wear it at, which I like because it’s much easier to choose how you want to style it. I do think it’s a bit pricey for a gold plated piece, but the quality does seem to be there.

+ Jen Atkin x Chloe + Isabel Suede + Baguette Headwrap and Choker, $48.00.

Designed by my close friend and hair genius Jen Atkin, this is the perfect little pick-me-up for any look, casual or formal. Styled in your tresses, around your neck, wrist or waist, it’s as versatile as it is chic.

Wrap it around your wrist as a bohemian alternative to a classic cuff. Style it as a headband or belt for an unexpected pop of sparkle.

This is a really pretty piece. I personally like it best as a choker or as a wrap bracelet. It is really nice quality and a very versatile piece that I think would work well for many people and many styles. This is a welcome addition to my collection.

While I do enjoy this box and the items are normally wonderful quality and value, I don’t find myself loving the items like I wish I would for the price point. There’s been at least one item out of every box that I have passed on or plan on swapping, and sometimes its the hero item. At this point, it just isn’t worth the high price point for me. I have cancelled my subscription as of this post. If, in the future, I see spoilers I like and they have a coupon out, I might consider giving it another shot, but as of right now I’ve decided to take a break.

I paid $99.99 for $415.40 worth of products!

What do you think of this subscription? Do you think it’s worth the cost?

  1. I totally agree, canceling my subscription also. I just find the items ok not very excited. Very disappointing and sad to say as i was the most excited about this subscription.I am also from Canada and end up paying $55.00 for duty each box , i reaize it is not their fault but do not get charged duty on any of my other boxes. So i have paid $200.00 in duty … 😳🙄🤨
My fave is fabfit fun, my girls and i look forward to it !

    1. Oh my goodness, that’s way too much for this box! Those duty fees are crazy! I love FabFitFun! It’s probably one of my favorites and the add-ons are always great too:)
