This is one hell of a journey. If you remember, last month I talked about the Target beauty boxes that they recently came out with. As I mentioned in that post, that was the beginning of a series. Here we are for installment number two. The Walmart boxes. Walmart released SIX boxes, all very exciting and I can’t wait to dig into them!
+ Links may be affiliate or referral links. All items purchased by me unless otherwise mentioned. All opinions are my own.
Walmart released six boxes. These retail for $9.88 each, which is a bit pricier than Target’s $7 price point. These do include some full-size products though, so the value will be interesting to find out.
They offer: Walmart Beauty Favorites Box: Glow For It ($9.88), Walmart Beauty Favorites Box: Time For Eyes ($9.88), Walmart Beauty Favorites Box: Latest In Lips ($9.88), Walmart Beauty Favorites Box: Refresh Renew Extend ($9.88), Walmart Beauty Favorites Box: Love My Curls ($9.88), Walmart Beauty Favorites Box: Naturally Inspired ($9.88).
Even though these are priced higher than Target’s boxes, I’m okay with the price point. At under $10, I find these to be affordable.
We are going to start with the Walmart Beauty Favorites Box: Latest In Lips ($9.88).
The packaging of these boxes are show the products inside.
These boxes don’t include information cards or coupons, but the products, directions and ingredients are all listed on that back of the box.
Neutral matches everything. With advice from beauty mavens like you, we selected some of our fave essentials for fuller-looking, nude-hued lips.
This box includes:
+ Revlon Kiss Plumping Lip Creme in 510 Nude Honey ($7.97). This is full size. This is a gorgeous color and has a slight plumping sensation.
+ Hard Candy Plumping Serum Volumizing Lip Gloss in 1390 Sugar Sugar ($6.00?). This is a full size, but I’m not able to locate this shade or packaging on the Walmart website. It’s a pale pink color, which isn’t my favorite. I didn’t notice any plumping sensation, but it does have a wonderful vanilla scent.
+ Maybelline New York Super Stay Matte Ink in 10 Dreamer ($7.94). This is another full size. I have a couple of these in different shades and I like them. This is a bright pink color.
+ L’Oreal Paris Infallible Pro Matte Gloss in 316 Statement Nude ($4.43). This is a deluxe sample size. It’s a gorgeous color, but I find it a bit out of place since everything else in this box is full size.
+ Milani Amore Matte Lip Creme in 10 Adorable ($7.97). This is a really pretty color and I am a huge fan of Milani lip products!
+ ELF Lip Exfoliator in Brown Sugar ($3.00). I have gone through several of these in my life and I’m always happy to have a new one.
This set has a value of $37.31 that I was able to calculate. It claims to have a value of over $38.00, so I’m willing to give them the benefit of the doubt and say that my calculations may be off somewhere. This is a really great set if you are a fan of nude based lip colors though. The value is really good and you get a nice mix of drugstore lip products!
The second box that I have is the Walmart Beauty Favorites Box: Time For Eyes ($9.88).
We curated some of our top-selling highest quality products for beautiful eyes!
This box includes:
+ ELF Essentials Brow Wax Pencil in Clear ($2.00). This is a full size product and another that I’ve used before. It’s pretty good, so we are starting out strong.
+ Almay Shadow Squad Eye Shadow in 110 Cause A Stir ($4.97). This is a cute eyeshadow, but I’m not quite sure of the quality. It doesn’t swatch the greatest and is packed full of shimmer.
+ Covergirl TruNaked Eyeshadow Palette in 805 Nudes ($9.98). This is the full size palette and the cost of it is more than the cost of the box so I’m amazed they included this!
+ KISS Lash Couture in Little Black Dress ($7.04). I’m not a huge lash person, but they are nice to have on hand for special occasions. One notable mention about this though is that it doesn’t come in its original packaging, just in a little plastic package – if that matters to you.
+ L’Oreal Paris Voluminous Lash Paradise in Blackest Black ($8.97). I actually have this mascara already and it’s a really nice mascara so I’m always happy to have a back-up!
+ Maybelline New York Lasting Drama Waterproof Gel Pencil in 601 Sleek Onyx ($3.47?). I’m not totally sure of the value of this because it isn’t full size, so I took the price of the full size and cut it in half. I am a fan of this line of eyeliners, so I’m pleased to have a new color.
This box has a value of $36.43. This box claims to have a value of over $37, and I’m totally willing to give them this one because I wasn’t able to determine the actual value of the Maybelline eyeliner. Either way, I think that this is a great box and it comes with some really nice drugstore products!
The next box up is Walmart Beauty Favorites Box: Glow For It ($9.88).
Shimmery skin that stuns! We handpicked our top highlighters and other goodies to give your face youthful, dewy radiance.
This box includes:
+ Found Brightening Coconut Sheet Mask ($2.50). I’m sure ya’ll know by know I am a mask fanatic, so I’m really excited to see this in here! It’s new to me!
+ Milani Make It Dewy Setting Spray ($5.21). I’ve been wanting to try this setting spray for months! This isn’t the full size, but it’s about half of the full size.
+ Covergirl Vitalist Healthy Glow Highlighter ($8.94). This is another product that I’ve been wanting to try. I’ve never had a highlighter in a potted form, so it’s pretty intriguing to me.
+ Wet N Wild Megaglo Highlighting Powder in 321B Precious Pearls ($4.68). I love these highlighters from Wet N Wild and this shade is beautiful!
+ Hard Candy Rose Gold Illuminator ($6.00?). This is a gorgeous highlight, but I wasn’t actually able to find this on the Walmart website, so I am guessing at the value.
This box has a value of $27.33. It claims to have a value of over $24, so it hit the mark this time! This has products that I’ve been wanting to try mixed with an old favorite and is my favorite so far!
The next box is the Walmart Beauty Favorites Box: Refresh Renew Extend ($9.88).
Life getting in the way of regular hair care? We’ve got you. Refresh your hair’s look and feel with dry shampoo, a mask, or a deep conditioner.
This box includes:
+ L’Oreal Paris Elvive Total Repair 5 Damage-Erasing Balm ($0.70). This is a sample packet, but it’s a product that I really want to try because I have the worst split ends, so I’m okay with the small size.
+ Nexxus Keraphix Damage Healing Treatment Masque ($17.07?). This is only available in a smaller size than the sample packet I got in this box on the Walmart website, so my value is a complete guess based on that product listing.
+ Batiste Dry Shampoo Original ($1.39). I love this dry shampoo! I normally buy a different scent, but I love the original too and this is a great size to throw in your purse.
+ Herbal Essences Bio-Renew In-The-Shower Foam Conditioner ($1.24). I’ve tried a Pantene foam conditioner and was actually really surprised by how much I liked it so I’m really excited to give this a shot! Plus, it smells amazing!
+ HASK Charcoal Purifying Dry Shampoo ($1.69). This is really interesting. It’s infused with charcoal powder which is supposed to help with oil absorption.
+ OGX Refresh & Restore + Coconut Miracle Oil Dry Shampoo ($2.43). This smells incredible! I’ve used this brand before and I’ve loved it, so I have high hopes for this.
+ got2b Fresh It Up Dry Shampoo ($4.97). This has an okay scent. I’m a big fan of got2b products and this is one that I’ve never tried and it’s a full size!
This box has a value of $29.49. The box claims a value of over $22! I do think my estimate is off because of the Nexxus product, but either way I think this box is worth checking out if you love hair products and are a tad lazy with your hair like I am!
We are almost done! This box is the Walmart Beauty Favorites Box: Love Your Curls ($9.88).
Coddle your curls and coils! We selected these hydrating and styling products made just for naturally curly locks.
This box includes:
+ John Frieda Frizz Ease Secret Weapon Touch-Up Creme ($7.47). This is a full size product! I’m actually using a sample of this right now and I’m loving it! It’s great for taming those baby hair flyaways so I’m really glad to have the full size!
+ ORS Curls Unleashed Shea Butter & Mango Leave-In Conditioner ($1.38). This is a hair softener and moisturizer for natural hair. It’s a really nice sized sample!
+ HASK Coconut Milk & Organic Honey Curl Care Deep Conditioner ($1.77). I looove coconut scented products. This is another great sample size and I think it should work well in helping me hold my very faint natural curl.
+ TRESemme Extra Firm Control Mousse ($1.97?) I actually can’t find this product on the Walmart website so I’m guessing the value based on typical travel size drugstore haircare products. I’m not a mousse using person, but I might give it a try. If not, I can always pass it on to a friend.
+ Shea Moisture Coconut & Hibiscus Curl Enhancing Smoothie ($3.71). I’ve used this before and it’s a nice product so I’m always happy to have more.
+ Maui Moisture Heal & Hydrate Shea Butter Shampoo ($1.51). The full size packaging of this is seriously so cute. I’ve seen it in stores and have always been intrigued, but I’ve never purchased it for whatever reason. I’m really excited to finally get to try it.
+ Maui Moisture Heal & Hydrate Shea Butter Conditioner ($1.76). They also included the conditioner!
+ Shea Moisture Jamaican Black Castor Oil Strengthen & Restore Leave-In Conditioner ($2.46). This is another conditioner that I’ve always wanted to try!
This box has a value of $22.03. This box claims to have a value of over $29. I’m getting very confused over their estimated values, but I’m also having a hard time determining the correct values. This is a good box filled to the brim with a variety of products and would be a great choice if you have curly hair.
The last box is the Walmart Beauty Favorites Box: Influenced By Nature ($9.88).
Want nature-inspired beauty products with great results? We’ve harvested some of our top hair care products that’ll leave your locks looking lovely.
This box includes:
+ HASK Orchid & White Truffle Moisture Rich Deep Conditioner ($0.69). Another great deep conditioner! This is a sample packet, but should enough for even my lengthy hair.
+ Garnier Whole Blends Repairing Mask ($0.32). This is another product that I’ve been wanting to try, so I’m excited to get this sample packet!
+ Renpure Tea Tree & Lemon Sage Shampoo ($0.74). I can’t find this specific shampoo on the Walmart website so I got the value from a different shampoo from this brand. This has a nice refreshing scent to it.
+ Renpure Tea Tree & Lemon Sage Conditioner ($0.74). I ran into the same situation with this as I did with the shampoo. Either way, I’m excited to try this line.
+ Love Beauty And Planet Argan Oil & Lavender Shampoo ($1.54). I’ve tried the coconut scent from this line and loved it and I’m a big fan of lavender so I’m really excited to try this out!
+ Love Beauty And Planet Argan Oil & Lavender Conditioner ($1.81). Why do the condiioners always cost more than the shampoos? This one really does smell good though.
+ Garnier Fructis Nourishing Treat 1 Minute Hair Mask ($1.62). I’ve seen these a lot at my local Frys and I believe I have a sample of this too that I haven’t tried yet. I love the idea of a quick hair mask, so I’m excited to give this a try!
+ Palmer’s Coconut Oil Deep Conditioning Protein Pack ($5.44). I love coconut oil, obviously. This is a huge sample packet so I think this will go quite a long way!
This box had a value of $12.90? This box claims to have a value of over $19. I must be missing the mark with these values. Regardless, I’m excited to try all of these and I think this is another great set!
I’m really concerned that there are several products that I can’t find on the Walmart website and how far off my values were for almost every box. Even with that though, I think these boxes are worth it. They include several great drugstore products. I do feel the value is slightly better with the Target boxes, but these do have claim to their space in the game.
What do you think of these boxes? Do you prefer these or the Target ones?
