The Best & Worst of the Wet N Wild Flights of Fancy Collection

One of my favorite things is when brands release collections as a single set that you can buy. No hunting down products, no picking and choosing what I want, they typically come at a discounted price and the packaging is normally an upgrade. As you can imagine, I was pretty excited about this new Wet N Wild collection.

Wet N Wild Flights of Fancy Collection Box ($34.99)

I purchased this box from the Wet N Wild website, where it is still available. By purchasing from their website, you get a free collectible pin.

Soar into summer with a curated collection inspired by the feathers of the Allen’s and Costa hummingbirds. Eyes feature a range of purples, blues, and greens for a dramatic shimmering look. Lips are glossed in reds, pinks, and corals for a vibrant summer pout. Cheeks are flushed in a combination of vivid pigments for a unique summer glow. Keep skin refreshed this summer.

By purchasing this collection, a portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Los Angeles Audubon Society, a nonprofit organization whose mission is to protect birds and their habitats. These funds will benefit a habitat restoration project for the Allen’s Hummingbird, an endangered California native.

Look at how pretty is all is! There are some gorgeous products in this collection!

Wet N Wild Color Icon Baked Blush in Don’t Flutter Yourself ($4.99) | Wet N Wild Color Icon Baked Blush in Hummingbird Hype ($4.99) | Wet N Wild Color Icon Baked Blush in Dare To Soar ($4.99)

These colors are gorgeous and I love the bird imprint in each pan. These come packaged in their classic Color Icon Baked Blush packaging, which I love. It looks sleek and is lightweight and compact.

These blushes are on the shimmery side, but I don’t mind a little shimmer with my blush. The pigmentation is wonderful and I don’t find them to be powdery. After testing them, I’m totally on board with the wear time. They last all day and blend beautifully into the skin. These are definitely one of the best.

Wet N Wild Color Icon Lip Gloss in Fly Girl ($3.99) | Wet N Wild Color Icon Lip Gloss in Featherless ($3.99) | Wet N Wild Color Icon Lip Gloss in Pout of Paradise ($3.99) | Wet N Wild Color Icon Lip Gloss in Shut The Pluck Up ($3.99)

Can we please talk about this packaging? Simple, sleek tubes with the CUTEST caps on the top. I’m loving this bird theme. I do prefer darker colors or more nude-ish shades instead of all of that pink, but I do love Shut The Pluck Up. Definitely more my style.

The formula of these is nice. They are slightly on the sticky side. They do have a nice scent though. It reminds me of the MAC vanilla scent. The colors are really nice and pigmented, so I wouldn’t call them a Worst Of, but these definitely aren’t the best.

Wet N Wild Color Icon Eyeshadow Quad in Stop Ruffling My Feathers ($2.99) | Wet N Wild Color Icon Eyeshadow Quad in Flock Party ($2.99) | Wet N Wild Color Icon Eyeshadow Quad in Hasta La Costa Baby ($2.99)

The price point on these is incredible! $2.99 for an eyeshadow quad?!? I love how affordable these are. The color combos are great too, and these come with imprints in each shadow telling you where on the eye they are supposed to go, so they are great for makeup beginners!

Wet N Wild Color Icon Eyeshadow Quad in Stop Ruffling My Feathers ($2.99)

This is a nice quad with several shimmers. The pigmentation is ok, although it did take a couple swipes to build up the color to these swatches. These colors do work well together though, so I’d call this a decent quad. Not the best, but certainly not the worst that I’ve tried.

Wet N Wild Color Icon Eyeshadow Quad in Flock Party ($2.99)

I really like these colors. They work well together, this quad swatches nicely, and they have staying power. Sometimes, Wet N Wild really comes through with the quality of their makeup. This quad is a “Best” for me!

Wet N Wild Color Icon Eyeshadow Quad in Hasta La Costa Baby ($2.99)

This quad is the one I ended up testing in the pictures below. This quad swatched horribly, but it actually applied really well and I was pleasantly surprised. This is on the more colorful side, obviously, but I like playing with colorful looks and this quad is a nice, affordable way to do that.

Wet N Wild MegaLiner Liquid Liner in Gilded Wings ($2.99) | Wet N Wild MegaLiner Liquid Liner in Winged N Wild ($2.99)

I love that they came out with bright colors for this collection! Sometimes black eyeliner just gets boring, and the best way to spice up that neutral eye look is a colored eyeliner!

Wet N Wild MegaLiner Liquid Liner in Gilded Wings ($2.99) | Wet N Wild MegaLiner Liquid Liner in Winged N Wild ($2.99)

Excuse my bad swatching, I’ve never tried “writing” in eyeliner before, but I feel like this gives a decent idea to how opaque these liners are. Gilded Wings is kind of in the middle of the sheer and opaque, but you can build it up to a gorgeous color. Winged N Wild is a beautiful opaque dark green. They’re very easy to work with.

Wet N Wild Perfect Pout Lip Scrub in Pecker Up ($3.99)

I don’t think I’ve ever tried a Wet N Wild lip scrub. I don’t quite get the fruit packaging since this collection is more of a bird theme, but it’s cute so I can’t get too mad at it. This smells amazing – just like watermelon chapstick and it actually works! It has a nice exfoliate and my lips felt (and smelled) amazing after using this!

Wet N Wild Photo Focus Primer Water Spray in Paradise Potion ($4.99)

Ever since Smashbox came out with their Primer Water, I have been obsessed with primer sprays. Naturally, I was excited when I found out Wet N Wild was releasing one in this collection!

Wet N Wild Photo Focus Primer Water Spray in Paradise Potion ($4.99)

The top of this spray is huge! It’s nice because it’s much easier to spray with my eyes closed, as one does with primer sprays. I was impressed with this. It worked pretty well and it absolutely helped my makeup last all day – which is no easy feat considering all the running around I do after three kids every day.

Here is a very subtle look I did using some of these products. I do like how it turned out and think it’s great for a day to day look. I really like this collection and think that there are definitely some hidden gems in there.

What do you think of this collection? Are you going to pick any of these up?
