Summer 2018 Popsugar Must Have Review!

I have been waiting so long for this box! Popsugar is one of my favorite subscription boxes and I was heartbroken when they decided to switch to quarterly. This is the first quarterly box and I’m so excited that I finally have it!

+ Links may be affiliate or referral links.

Popsugar Must Have is $75 a quarter and every quarter, Lisa Sugar and her editorial staff will curate an exciting quarterly box full of fun, must-have picks across fashion, beauty, home decor, fitness, and more, which we will deliver to your door. The quarterly box features full-size products and premium items including tried-and-true classics, celebrity favorites, and brands consumers have yet to discover. Your quarterly subscription box will include products worth over $250.

I’m super excited to see a jam-packed box! These boxes are the ones that POPSUGAR used to use for their limited edition boxes, so there is an upgrade in packaging there.

The information booklet is a bit thicker with more information. Each product now gets it own page. They also included a paper with discount codes for the brands featured in this box.

I don’t see a theme for this season listed, but there is a blurb from Lisa Sugar, the founder and president of POPSUGAR:

Get ready to relax with our first quarterly POPSUGARĀ  Must Have box! We are so thrilled to bring you an even more thoughtfully curated and luxurious experience by continuing to partner with the best brands and products to make you feel special. Our Summer box will help you unwind and chill out by creating your favorite spa experience at home and helping you focus on self-care. Thanks as always for being a loyal subscriber – we hope you love this box as much as we do!

This box also came with a mini catalog of POPSUGARS new beauty line, Beauty by POPSUGAR and an ad for Propels Fitness Festivals.

Beauty by POPSUGAR Be The Boss Lip Gloss in Time After Time ($18)

POPSUGAR just released their own beauty line. I know it’s available at Ulta Beauty (I may have purchased a palette from the line). It’s called Beauty by POPSUGAR.

Beauty by POPSUGAR is made for everyone who believes smart is beautiful. Think thoughtfully sourced ingredients, good-for-you products, and an irresistible formula you can use to put together multiple looks. Created with inspiration and input from 100 million POPSUGAR beauty junkies, Beauty by POPSUGAR is made for your happiest, healthiest face. This is makeup that works hard and plays nice so you look great!

We asked our readers what they wanted from a beauty line, and we created products based on that! One of our signature products is a tinted, nonsticky, high-power lip gloss. This buildable colored gloss is high shine without ever feeling tacky. It nourishes your pout with shea butter, soybean oil, and vitamins E and C. It’s also made without the harmful ingredients you hate, like parabens, mineral oil, and more.

First off, I love the packaging on this. It’s a tube with a wand! I hate squeeze tube lipglosses. There is a really nice vanilla scent to this and the color is pretty and subtle. It’s a dusty mauve shade. It doesn’t feel as sticky as most lip glosses, but it’s not stick-free either. I’m happy they included a product from their new line in this box since I’m a total makeup hoarder, and this was a good product for them to choose.

Eberjey Wrap Robe ($88)

Wrap yourself in a pretty pink robe that’s perfect for a DIY spa or lazy weekend. The ultrasoft jersey feels luxurious and will keep you cool and comfortable.

This is a cute robe. I can’t find this exact one online, and I also can’t find a robe from Eberjey in this price range. It looks like they are all on the higher end. This is a great robe for summertime since it’s shorter and lightweight. I don’t think I’ve ever gotten a “summer” robe in a subscription box before, so this is a really neat thing to get. It is really soft and comfy, too!

Sunday Riley C.E.O. Rapid Flash Brightening Serum ($85)

Unveil a brighter complexion thanks to this vitamin C-packed serum. The superior formula contains ingredients like antioxidants and phytosterols to reveal brighter, clearer, and less irritated skin. Sunday Riley selects the best ingredients and creates products with the latest tech so you can see gorgeous skin results instantly.

I’ve tried Sunday Riley products before. I actually discovered them when they sent me some PR a few years back. I’m a big fan of the brand, and I just got this exact same product in an Allure Beauty Box a couple of months back (just not in the fancy box). I’m super happy to have a back up though! This is a very thin, lightweight serum that has a touch of a citrus scent to it, but it’s been amazing for my skin!

Lele Sadoughi Circle Garland Earrings ($98)

Punch up your everyday uniform or embellish your most stylish outfit with these colorful earrings. Inspired by confetti and streamers, these on-trend earrings will instantly brighten your look. The natural stone material of the earrings guarantees that no two are alike, making each one uniquely your own. These gorgeous disks are made from a mix of genuine stone and resin connected by 14K gold-plated rings.

I can’t find this exact pair online, only similar pairs. I linked to the designers website above. I love the confetti-look of these and I think they’re really fun for summer parties. I probably wouldn’t pay $98 for a pair of earrings like this, but isn’t that half the fun? I do think these are cute though and will now shamelessly search for a reason to wear them.

Sphynx 3-in-1 Portable Razor ($14.99)

Never miss a spot again! The Sphynx razor includes a water spray bottle, shea butter shave bar, and two razor blades, making it the perfect multiuse product to take on the go. Throw it in your gym bag for a quick post-workout shave or use it to pack light while you travel.

This is totally why I love subscription boxes. I love discovering new products that I didn’t know I needed. This is freaking cool and solves a lot of womanly issues and it’s packaged in a really cute way. This will be great to throw in a gym bag, an overnight bag or even my purse. I’m weirdly excited about this!

Mela Artisans Concha Round Box ($60)

We partnered with Mela Artisans to product this unique mother-of-pearl vanity box. Created by a group of artisans in Sambhal, India, Mela Artisans aims to help preserve the age-old craftsmanship and artisanal integrity of their handmade products. A portion of its earned revenue helps preserve traditions by building relationships and uplifting their community.

Okay, this box is seriously gorgeous. I’m in the process of re-doing my vanity and my vanity decor and this box will definitely be going on display. I love mother of pearl, and it actually looks really nice next to the finished wood. This is what I expect from POPSUGAR.

Ahmad Tea of London Fruit & Herb Selection ($4.50)

Kick back and relax with this collection of fruit-and-herbal tea. The selection of tea bags comes in four varieties and is caffeine-free and completely natural so you can rest easy. Pick from Peppermint and Lemon, Chamomile and Lemongrass, Detox, and Lemon and Ginger to suit your mood.

Eh. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. I’m not a tea drinker. I’d really love to be. I think there’s something so poetic in it. I just seriously cannot get past the taste. It’s not my cup of tea (see what I did there?). This will get passed on to someone else and is the first fail of this new subscription model for me.

Mrs. Meyer’s Lavender Hand Sanitizer ($3.49) | Mrs. Meyer’s Lemon Verbena Bar Soap ($3.99)

Keep your hands squeaky clean when you’re on the go with a fresh-scented hand sanitizer. Spritz a few sprays on each hand to kill 99.9% of common germs.

This is actually a really nice special extra. I love Mrs. Meyer’s products and I love sprayable hand sanitizers. This one smells really nice too. I have one of these in my car/diaper bag and I’m planning to toss this one into my purse.

This vegetable-based soap produces a creamy lather you’ll love with hydrating olive oil. You’ll enjoy it so much that you’ll want to use this product from head to toe.

This one I’m not such a fan of. I don’t use bar soap and Kylor always says he will, but never does. I might look up to see if I can clean my makeup brushes with this, otherwise I’ll probably pass it on. I wonder if it’s safe for a three-year old. . .

Propel Watermelon Powder

These convenient packets of sugar-free, zero-calorie Propel don’t just taste great – they’re also perfect for keeping you hydrated. When we sweat, it’s important to rehydrate properly. This delicious watermelon flavor will help replenish the fluids and essential electrolytes lost during your workout.

This is a nice little extra. I like having these little juice packets to toss in my purse for any of us that might want something more than just water on our outings. It’s a really great convenience item to have on hand, especially with kids.

Skin Laundry Sleepcycle Pillowcase ($30.00)

POPSUGAR now offers add-ons (similar to FabFitFun, just not as many and not so great discounts). I normally don’t partake in the add-ons, but I’ve been wanting to try one of these pillowcases, and at the (le sigh) discounted price of $22.50, I decided to try it out. This is supposed to help your skin stay clean while you sleep.

This box has a value of $368.49 + special extras (not including my add-on). For a $75/ a quarter box, I think that’s pretty damn good. And considering the only two products I’m not interested in are a $4.50 box of tea and a $4 bar of soap, I think it’s safe to say this box is a winner for me! I can’t wait to see what’s coming in the Fall box!

What do you think of this box? Are you happy with the new model?
