It’s time for another installment of Let’s Talk Trash! This is where I talk about the beauty products that I’ve used up this last month and share my thoughts on them. Plus, we find out the value of the products I’ve used up so far this year and explore how expensive it is to be a woman.

+ Suave Essentials Daily Clarifying Conditioner, 30 FL OZ ($1.94)
I found a couple bottles of this in my beauty closet, so I decided to try to use them since they definitely aren’t my favorites. This really isn’t bad though, especially when you account for the price. I would consider repurchasing.
+ Suave Essentials Everlasting Sunshine Shine Conditioner, 30 FL OZ ($1.94)
This one smells really nice, but I didn’t notice a shine to my hair after using it. If I am going to use Suave Essentials, I much prefer the Daily Clarifying, so I probably wouldn’t repurchase this.
+ Not Your Mother’s Clean Freak Refreshing Shampoo, 8 FL OZ ($5.99)
Okay, this smells INCREDIBLE. It has a minty scent to it that even Kylor enjoyed. This really made my hair feel cleaner and refreshed after using and I would 100% repurchase it!
+ Aussie Total Miracle 7-in-1 Dry Shampoo, 4.9 OZ ($3.49 x2)
This is a really nice and affordable drugstore dry shampoo option. It has a slightly fruity scent to me, but never caused a white cast and always worked really well for me. I believe these two bottles officially marks the last of my back-ups of this, but I’d totally get it again.
I believe I have a back-up of this. This is one of my all-time favorite detanglers. It works, it helps with the small amount of natural curl that I have in my hair, and it the scent is to die for. I’d obviously repurchase.
+ Living Proof Full Volume Dry Blast, 3 FL OZ ($15.00)
I’ve gone through a couple of these before, I tend to get them in subscription boxes. I love this stuff. It adds a lot of volume without tangling my hair and it adds some texture too. I would definitely repurchase.
+ Ouai Finishing Creme, 0.5 FL OZ ($3.52 estimate value based on price of full size)
This smells really nice. I used this to help with my baby hair fly-aways and it worked really well. I have a John Frieda one that I like just as much though, so I probably wouldn’t shell out the cash for a full size of this.
+ Oribe Apres Beach Wave and Shine Spray, 8.5 FL OZ ($42.00)
This is my freaking holy grail wave spray. I seriously love them so much. This is a repurchased product, but I’m trying to find another holy grail because that price is waaaay too much considering how quickly I go through a can. If you haven’t tried this yet and you like wave sprays, TRY IT. NOW.
+ Toni & Guy Glamour Firm Hold Hairspray, 7.5 OZ ($19.99)
Kylor was actually the one who used this. I picked it up on clearance at Fry’s at some point, and it was living in my hair spray stash and he needed a new bottle. He said it was decent, but he wouldn’t repurchase at the full price point.
South Mane Under Eye Gels, 3 PACK ($9.00)
I got these in a Boxycharm box a while back. These were pretty nice. You’re supposed to use all three of them in three consecutive days. I did feel my undereyes looked less puffy and a bit more refreshed after using them. I did post mask selfies on my Instagram stories, and there are a couple in the highlights on my Instagram (@mommymessmer) if you want to see them in action.
+ Karuna Hydrating+ Face Mask ($8.00)
I also posted about this on my Instagram stories & highlights. This mask was the most difficult to smooth out and it was way too saturated, which I guess is a good thing if you’re trying to boost hydration, but I personally didn’t enjoy this one.
+ no:HJ Teatree Mud Mask ($2.99)
This mask was really cute. It had a lacy overlook to it and it did feel very luxe on the skin. I love the teatree element and I do think this made my skin feel nicer and smoother to the touch. And it looked adorable on!
This was a decent mask. I didn’t absolutely love it, but I didn’t hate it. I probably wouldn’t repurchase unless I saw a sale, but I’ll use up any more that I have.
+ Erno Laszlo Multi-Mask Eye Serum Mask ($5.83 estimate based on full size price)
These eye masks are amazing. They are so hydrating and although I only used one, I do think that it helped with my dark circles.
+ Berrisom SOS! My Lip Patch ($3.00)
I love lip patches, but I don’t have a ton of them. This one had a slight berry scent to it, but it did make my lips feel and look a little plumper, so I totally think it’s worth the cost.
+ Skimono Total Conditioning+ Foot Mask ($14.00)
This mask is a little bootie that you wear on your feet for 20-30 minutes. I’ve used these in the past and I always love using them at nighttime. They make my feet feel so hydrated and soft. I will definitely repurchase.
+ KNC Beauty All Natural Collagen Infused Lip Mask ($4.99 estimate based on price of full size)
This is another lip mask that I really like. I have a few of these left after receiving a pack in a subscription box. This one really helped my lips feel more hydrated and plumper. I would repurchase these!
+ Proactiv Deep Cleansing Wash, 3 FL OZ ($35.00? I’m not sure of the size that costs $35, but it’s the only size I can find)
I am normally not a Proactiv fan, but this face wash was actually really nice. Kylor and I both used and enjoyed it!
+ Mad Hippie Cream Cleanser, 4 FL OZ ($15.99)
I got this in a subscription box a while back. It’s a really nice cream cleanser and I really loved what it did for my skin, but the bottle itself is glass. I just don’t feel like a glass bottle in a shower is a good idea, especially when you’re as clumsy as I am.
+ Murad Intensive-C Radiance Peel, 0.33 FL OZ ($10.67 estimate based on price of full size)
I love me some Murad. This was really nice, but this size only lasted me a teensy bit over one use. It did leave my skin looking more radiant and glowing though! I believe I have a few more of these little samples in my stash that I’m very excited to use.
+ Hey Honey Come Clean Propolis & Minerals Facial Scrub, 0.5 OZ ($5.45 estimate based on price of full size)
This was a really great scrub. Very abrasive. I used this with my Foreo Luna and it worked out wonderfully! I would totally repurchase this.
+ Juice Beauty Green Apple Peel, 0.26 FL OZ ($6.24 estimate based on price of full size)
I’m not the biggest fan of Juice Beauty products due to the scent, but this was worked really well. My skin felt rejuvenated and so, so soft! I have more of these samples that I will definitely be using.
+ Skin & Co Umbrian Truffle Ultra Rich & Nourishing Face Cream, 0.17 FL OZ ($2.85 estimate based on price of full size)
This was okay, it was a very rich cream though. I tend to gravitate towards lighter, hydrating face creams. This was decent, I just wouldn’t spring for the full size.
+ La Roche-Posay Anthelios 60 Ultra Light Sunscreen Fluid, 0.1 FL OZ ($1.76 estimate based on price of full size)
This was a really nice, luxe feeling sunscreen. It’s a sunscreen fluid, so it’s really thin. I didn’t expect to like it very much, but I think this may have changed me to a sunscreen fluid-y person. I would repurchase this.
+ Boscia Sake Treatment Water, 0.51 FL OZ ($12.68 estimate based on price of full size)
This is a sake-infused treatment water. Sake-infused treatment waters is supposed to help your skin absorb your skincare products. This was pretty good for that. My skin didn’t feel as weighted down as it normally does. I’d try out the full size.
+ Etude House Wonder Pore Freshner, 0.84 FL OZ ($0.92 estimate based on price of full size)
This was really good. I am getting into k-beauty, especially their skincare. I have yet to find something I don’t like. This was really great, and I would definitely repurchase.
+ Etude House AC Clean Up Toner, 0.50 FL OZ (?)
I’m having a hard time finding the information for this product online. But isn’t that packaging adorable? This was a really nice, refreshing toner. I loved the way it made my skin feel, so clean and smooth. It was great to cleanse before applying makeup.
+ Softsoap Sweet Honeysuckle & Orange Peel Moisturizing Body Wash, 18 FL OZ ($2.97)
This smells incredible! I love Softsoap body washes when I’m looking for a cheaper option. This line is super affordable and they all smell amazing. This body wash had moisturizing beads in it, and it lathered up really well. I would repurchase.
+ Ulta Beauty Playful Love Moisture Rich Body Wash, 10 FL OZ (11.95)
I got this during an Ulta sale (haul video is here, if you’re interested), and it’s no longer available. I managed to pick up this little guy for like, $0.49 though. Something around there. This smelled like Victoria’s Secret Love Spell to me, which is my holy grail Victoria’s Secret scent, so I am a huge fan.
+ LUSH Bubbly Solid Shower Gel ($14.95)
I got this during the LUSH BOGO sale (haul video is here). This is no longer available for purchase. I bought a few different scents during that sale and this is the first one I tried out. I was really surprised by how much I liked this. It lathered very nicely and I love how environmentally friendly the whole thing is.
+ Fortune Cookie Soap You’re My Favorite Deputy Solid Sugar Scrub, 1 OZ (?)
This was from a limited edition box, and I can’t find it online. I also can’t find the size information for the current solid sugar scrubs they have. Either way, I didn’t love this. The scent was really nice, but this just crumbled. And the size was so small, it was a bit too difficult to use overall.
+ Zest Fruitboost Smoothie in Citrus Splash, 9 OZ ($4.73)
I’ve tried these in the past and I have a couple more in my stash. These are okay, they aren’t my favorite scrubs. They’re nice for a gentle and moisturizing exfoliation, they just aren’t abrasive enough for me on a regular basis.
+ First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream Intense Hydration in Vanilla Citron, 2 OZ ($10.00 estimate based on price of full size)
I love the original Ultra Repair Cream. Like, it’s holy grail status. Super hydrating. I hated this version though. The scent was awful to me. Like bug repellent. It’s just not something that I would like to rub all over myself before going to bed. I’ll pass on the full size of this particular scent.
+ Beauty Blender Micro Mini ($9.00 based on size of package of two)
I love these, they are amazing for concealer and anything that you’re trying to apply in small areas – around the eyes or the nose in particular. I have a ton of knock-offs of this at the moment, but once I get through my stash, I’ll probably spring for the name brand again.
I have a ton of these from a Target deal that happened a while back. I’m pretty pleased with my stash though. This is the closest dupe to the original Beauty Blender, and the price is so much better. I love these and will continue to use them.
+ Anastasia Beverly Hills Clear Brow Gel ($22.00)
I’ve gone through several tubes of this. It’s my holy grail brow gel. It holds my brows in place all day and it doesn’t make them crunchy or anything. I love this and will totally repurchase it.
+ The Beauty Crop Fabulous Flocking Lashes ($19.90)
The fact that the packaging for this has changed should tell me how old it is. This was a pretty decent mascara, nothing too crazy special but it did it’s job. Sadly, it’s all dried up now, so it has to move on. I probably wouldn’t repurchase it, but only because there are tons others I prefer a bit more at a cheaper price point.
OMG. This is seriously one of the most amazing drugstore foundations that I’ve ever tried. This was very high coverage, so if you like that I most definitely recommend this. I love the price point and the shade matched my skin pretty decently.
+ Smashbox Photo Finish Primer Water ($32.00)
This was an amazing primer. It works well with almost any foundation that I tried and it felt great on my skin as a starter in the hot weather. I might even be willing to give this holy grail status. I would definitely repurchase.
+ Kroger Cotton Rounds, 80 CT ($1.99 x2)
These are okay. I tend to buy these because they are very affordable and I don’t care THAT much that they shed a bit. But, they do shed a bit. I definitely prefer the Ulta brand ones.
+ Evolution Man Nu Noir Deodorant Stick ($24.00)
My husband used this deodorant. It smells amazing, but something in the deodorant stick cause him to get a small rash under his arm. It went away when he stopped using this, so we are deducing the cause here, but we aren’t sure what ingredient in this he had a reaction to. We obviously wouldn’t repurchase.
I wanted to like this so bad. I really did. It comes in really cute packaging and I love the Disney reference and I love the actual product idea. This just didn’t do anything for me. It was okay, and it helped to hydrate my feet, but exfoliate? Meh. It didn’t do a very good job. I wouldn’t buy it again.
+ Karma Naturals Organic Nail Polish Remover Wipes ($1.19 estimate based on full size price)
This was just terrible. It removed nothing. It just made my nail beds a tad greasy. I tried this on like, three nails before just switching back to regular nail polish remover.
I used up $439.38 worth of products this month!
I’ve used up $2,165.29 worth of products so far this year!
Have you ever tried any of these products? What have you used up recently?
