I’m a pretty big fan of the Play! by Sephora monthly subscription box (a total steal at only $10 a month!) and Sephora in general. So when I heard about a limited edition one-time purchase box that involved GLITTER of all things (thanks everyone on Instagram!), I HAD to snatch it up! This is a really cool box that has some pretty cool exclusives involved, and from what I’ve heard, this is the first in a series. So, let’s talk about it!

The Play! by Sephora PLAY! SMARTS Glitter Eyes For Real Life is a Sephora limited edition exclusive one-time purchase box that includes access to a live-streamed class to learn about the glitter eye trend. It costs $20 and you can check it out here!
It comes in the same kind of box that the monthly subscription comes in, except that it’s red in color, and obviously the logo is a bit different.
Each product featured in this box has it’s own little card to go with it. The cards have tons of information on them: a product picture, a brief description of the product, information on when/how/why to use the product, additional information + pictures of the product in action or fun facts about the products, plus a place to put notes and questions for the live class!
Everything comes in the same type of drawstring bag that the monthly subscription comes in, but. . .
This one is a bit higher quality and features flip-able sequins! I’m really pleased with the curation of this, down to the type of bag used.
The first product we have is the Ole Henriksen Banana Bright Eye Cream – 0.1 FL OZ ($7.60 estimated value).
A brightening eye cream that targets fine lines and disguises dark circles with its yellow hue inspired by banana powder.
The back of the information card for this product includes some eye cream hacks and a graph that shows where it should be applied! I am a huge fan of banana powder, I love the effects that it has on the skin and I love how easy it is to use, so I was super excited to try this because I love products that allow me to skip some steps. Holy cow, this is crazy brightening! It’s super creamy and very hydrating, but that brightness. Make sure you’ve got some sunglasses!
Next up is Grande Cosmetics GrandeLASH-MD Lash Enhancing Serum – .03 OZ ($29.10 estimated value)
An award-winning, lash enhancing serum that promotes rapid growth with vitamins, amino acids, and antioxidants.
I’ve tried a lash serum before, but not this one. This has incredible reviews, but is insanely pricey! I’ve been using this for a couple of nights, but this size is a 6-week supply, so I’d like to use it for the full 6 weeks before I give a lot of thoughts about it. I took a before picture, so I’ll probably do a comparison post + mini review on my Instagram (@mommymessmer) once the 6 weeks are over!
The next thing that came in this box is the Benefit Cosmetics BADgal BANG! Volumizing Mascara – 0.1 OZ ($8.00 estimated value)
An ultra-lightweight mascara that uses aero-particles derived from space technology to add volume and length without clumping.
I LOVE me some Benefit mascaras. Rollerlash? Amazing. They’re Real? Amazing. This one has been on my wishlist since it hit the market. I’ve tried it once so far, and first impressions were good! It added some nice volume and made my lashes darker and fuller-looking. I can’t wait to keep using this!
Next, we have the Stila Glitter & Glow Liquid Eyeshadow in Kitten Karma – 0.03 FL OZ ($4.80 estimated value)
A metallic liquid eyeshadow in a peachy champagne shade packed with copper and silver glitter.
I was actually really surprised with how opaque this is! It’s such a beautiful color (anything in their kitten-y shades are!) This is a liquid eyeshadow, but it’s a water-infused formula so it’s sooo comfortable to wear. It’s amazing as a lid shade and it seriously dries down soooo quickly! Even when I swatched it, it was dry within seconds. Such a beautiful product.
The next goodie is the Bite Beauty Prismatic Pearl Multistick in Rose Pearl.
A surprisingly wearable, shimmery multistick that changes its tone depending on the light and angle.
I can’t find the size on this tube, so I can’t get an accurate estimated value, but either way – I’m still really excited about this. Bite Beauty makes amazing lip products and this one is so gorgeous. Since this is a “multistick”, you can use this on your eyelids, your cheeks and your lips. I love this as a lid shade and/or a lipstick. It’s so gorgeous and has some pretty decent staying power!
Last but not least, we have the Sephora Collection Contour Eye Pencil 12hr Wear Waterproof in Black Lace – 0.017 OZ ($4.25 estimated value).
A silky black eyeliner pencil that lasts up to 12 hours with its water-resistant formula.
I actually have a couple sample sizes of this already, and it’s a really nice eyeliner. The color is opaque and the formula is creamy and long-lasting. I’m really happy to have another in my collection, because a nice and affordable liner is harder to find then you might think!
This is a really nice box! I love the curation of this and the box had a great variety of products, but the products really work well together. I can’t wait to take part in the live class they’re having in a couple of days and I’m hoping to learn some new tips and tricks there! I really do hope they release some more of these boxes – this one was so much fun!
What do you think of this box? Do you like the concept of a “teaching” box?
