I’m going to spare everyone the whole speech this month, but I had a pretty decent month with using up my products this month, so I’m going to jump right in. I’m going to start with some full size hair care products:
Kylor actually used up an Axe Armor Anti-Dandruff Shampoo + Conditioner ($3.97). He says this was a good product and that he would repurchase it, but he doesn’t understand why people care. Men. . . He also used up the Pantene Pro-V Smooth Anti-Humidity Hairspray ($4.99). He doesn’t remember using this one. . .
I used up a couple goodies. I used the Not Your Mother’s Tahitian Gardenia Flower & Mango Butter Curl Defining Detangler ($8.99). This is actually a repurchase because this is one of my favorite detanglers ever! And now I’m using a leave-in that detangles because I went to Target and they didn’t have this :(. I seriously love this stuff though, and it’s so affordable! I also used up a Captain Blankenship Mermaid Sea Salt Spray ($24). I got this in a Popsugar box (like, before they switched to quarterly) and I finally got a chance to use it. I was actually really impressed with this (and I also didn’t know they sold this at Sephora), but it was a really good sea salt spray, so I’m happy and I would repurchase.
I really focused on travel sizes this month, especially when it came to hair care.
I only used up one shampoo, the Briogeo Scalp Revival Charcoal + Coconut Oil Micro-Exfoliating Shampoo, 1 OZ ($11). This was really nice, but it has such a strong minty scent to it. It worked wonders for my hair though! I also used up a couple treatments. I used a DevaCurl Wash Day Wonder Pre-Cleanse Slip Detangler, 1.5 FL OZ ($3.50 estimated value), which was good. I used this a lot when I had a build-up of product in my hair and it worked really well at removing the build up. I also used the Bumble and Bumble Thickening Spray, 1 FL OZ ($5.50 estimated value) and the Bumble and Bumble Hairdresser’s Invisible Oil, 1 FL OZ ($11.76 estimated value).
I used a TON of conditioner samples. I liked all of these, with the rare exception of packaging issues like I have talked about before, so I’m going to list the conditioners that I used up:
It’s A 10 Miracle Daily Conditioner, 2 FL OZ ($4.11 estimated value)
Redken Extreme Conditioner, 1 FL OZ ($2.35 estimated value)
Shea Moisture Dragon’s Blood & Coffee Cherry Volume+ Conditioner, 3.2 FL OZ ($2.82 estimated value)
Wella Professional Fusion-Plex Conditioner, 1 FL OZ ($3.23 estimated value)
DevaCurl Melt Into Moisture Matcha Butter Conditioning Mask, 1.5 FL OZ ($6.75 estimated value)
Nexxus Keraphix Treatment Masque, 1.5 OZ ($2.98) – I used two of these, but one is in my mask section below. Oops!
Living Proof No Frizz Conditioner, 2 FL OZ ($6.50 estimate value)
Love Beauty & Planet Coconut Water & Mimosa Flower Conditioner, 3 FL OZ ($1.99)
Maui Moisture Heal & Hydrate Shea Butter Conditioner, 3.3 FL OZ ($2.28 estimated value)
Living Proof Perfect Hair Day Conditioner, 1 FL OZ ($3.25 estimated value)
Hempz Sweet Pineapple & Honey Melon Herbal Volumizing Conditioner, 3 FL OZ ($2.39 estimated value)
Nexxus Humectress Replenishing System Conditioner, 3 FL OZ ($3.28 estimated value)
I used up a few full size skincare products! I used up one of my favorites, the Simple Water Boost Hydrating Cleansing Wipes ($6.89) I use a lot of cleansing/makeup removing wipes, but these are definitely at the head of the curve for me. I also used up a Lumene Pure Arctic Miracle 3-in-1 Micellar Cleansing Water ($5.59). I think this is an amazing price for a micellar water, but I didn’t love this. It didn’t remove my makeup, my skin didn’t really feel “cleansed” after I used this, it just didn’t hit any marks for me.
Kylor used up a Biore Baking Soda Cleansing Scrub ($9.99). He says he really enjoyed this and luckily, I have a couple more of these because I scored some on clearance a while back. I used up another tube of the Dr. Brandt Microdermabrasion Age Defying Exfoliator ($79). I have a ton of these from various subscription boxes, but this is one of my favorite exfoliators so I’m happy to have them – and to avoid paying that retail price. Yikes.
I also used up a Luxe Apothecary Cucumber + Aloe Toning Mist ($16). I can’t find this online anymore, and I vaguely recall getting it for a great deal, so it’s possibly it has been discontinued. Either way, I am so in love with this! It’s fresh, it works, it makes my skin feel incredible, and I love that it has a sprayer! I haven’t tried a toner with a spray nozzle before, and now I’m questioning why that isn’t the norm?
I also used up a few travel size skincare products. I used up another Lancome Bi-Facil Double Action Eye Makeup Remover, 1.7 FL OZ ($15). This does leave a slight oil residue, but it works really well and I do find myself enjoying it a lot more than I used to. I also used up a Clarins Lotion Tonique Toning Lotion, 1.7 FL OZ ($6.50 estimated value). I’ve never tried a Clarins toner before this, and while this does have an “old lady perfume” scent to it, it was actually very pleasant.
I used up a Clinique Rinse-Off Foaming Cleanser, 1 FL OZ ($4.20 estimated value). I cannot describe to you how much I loved this cleanser. I love the fact that it foams up, it removes all of my face makeup and just leaves my skin feeling so smooth and fresh and clean. This is a new favorite of mine.
I used up two baby moisturizers. I used up a Dermalogica Active Moist, 0.75 FL OZ ($17.64 estimated value) and a Stila Skincare Face The Day Multi-Use Moisturizing Gel Cream, 0.17 FL OZ (?). This is the teeniest sample! This literally lasted me all of 2 days. I really liked both of these though, and both of these would be perfect for dry skin!
I also used up some masks. I know this is a lot, but I have been so slacking on my masking these last couple of weeks. I won’t do any reviews here, since I always do reviews and posts when I mask on my Instagram (@mommymessmer), so if you want to check them out, they’re there. So, here I will just list them:
Candy O’ Lady Mystic Potion Candy Mask ($2.25)
Blaq Eye Mask ($5.80)
KNC Beauty All Natural Collagen Infused Lip Mask ($5)
Monthly New Feet Sock Pack ($3)
Miss de Gaspe Hydrate & Glow Hydrating & Illuminating Dry Mask ($36?)
Miss Spa Exfoliating Foot Booties ($6.99)
Sephora Pearl Face Mask ($6)
Dermovia Lace A Peel Black Bamboo Charcoal Peel Off Mask ($30)
Wander Beauty Baggage Claim Gold Eye Masks ($4.16)
Medius Lifting+ High Fitting Mask ($5.50)
Whish Renewing Mud Mask ($48)
We used up a couple of body products this month. Kylor actually used up two body washes – the Suave Everlasting Sunshine Body Wash ($2.39) and the Suave Sweet Pea & Violet Body Wash ($2.39). I didn’t use up any full size body wash this month – I’ve been working on a huge bottle!
I did use up a little travel size body wash, the Lollia Dream White Tea & Honeysuckle Perfumed Shower Gel, 2 FL OZ ($5.50 estimated value). This came in the most recent Margot Elena Discovery box and OMG does it smell good! This was a little bundle with a lotion in the same scent, but I’m still working on the lotion. I love this though! I also used up a little baby size of the Marc Jacobs Daisy Love Body Lotion, 1 FL OZ ($8.82 estimated value). This smelled really nice, but was a bit thicker than I was expecting.
I did go through a bit of makeup this month! I used up one of the teeniest primers I’ve ever seen, the Benefit Porefessional Pearl Primer, 0.1 FL OZ ($4.26 estimated value). This was a good primer and I loved the pearl glow it gave me. It wore well and I am a big fan of the original Porefessional, so I’m happy to see that they are making other versions.
I also used up a couple of foundation samples this month. I was trying to get through these and I seriously loved both of them so much, so it was an easy challenge. I used up the Fenty Beauty Pro Filt’R Soft Matte Longwear Foundation in 170, 0.13 OZ ($4.09 estimated value). I loved this foundation, but the packaging was the worst. I’m assuming it’s just because the bottle was so tiny. This is definitely on my shopping list, though. I also used up the Makeup Forever Ultra HD Invisible Cover Foundation in R230, 0.16 FL OZ ($6.81 estimated value). I actually already own this in the full size, so I was happy for a bit extra of this. Definitely one of my top foundation picks!
Finally for makeup, I used up two mascaras: I used the Wander Beauty Unlashed Volume & Curl Mascara ($24) and the Clinique Chubby Lash Fattening Mascara, 0.14 OZ ($6.65 estimated value). I actually really liked both of these mascaras. They both worked well and I love how they made my lashes look. Plus, the packaging for both is so cute!
And lastly, we used up some random products.
Kylor used up the Gillette Fusion Proglide Sensitive 2in1 Shave Gel ($4.97). This is one of my favorite shave gels and I’m pretty sure I’ve talked about it almost every month. But while he was using my holy grail, I was using the Gillette Venus with A Touch Of Olay in Violet Swirl ($8.95). This is a good shave gel and it smells so good! I really like the Olay infused shave gels, and I have a few more of these to use.
I also used up a Lady Speed Stick Invisible Dry in Powder Fresh ($2.17). This was good, but honestly I don’t get very excited about deodorant? Kylor also used up a cologne this month! I’m so proud of him! He used up the Guess Seductive Men EDT Spray ($23.39).
And then I FINALLY used up a couple of bath-y products! I used the LUSH Snow Fairy Sparkle Jar ($8.95) and the Fortune Cookie Soap Sea Witch Bath Bomb ($4.99). These were okay, but I’m really just not a huge fan of these types of products :/.
I used up $522.20 worth of products this month.
I’ve used up over $4,429.36 worth of products this month!
