This post is contributed.

If you have landed on this post, there is a high chance you are expecting a baby, so first of all, congratulations! If not, maybe you are trying to start a family or maybe you are looking for a bit of advice for a loved one? No matter what applies, bringing a new life into the world is a magical experience but a crazy one at the same time. Your life and your body will undergo so many different changes. So, with that in mind, continue reading to find out more about some of the things that no one ever tells you about being pregnant.

Becoming public property – There is only one place to begin, and this is with the fact that you have now become public property. It does not matter whether you are on the train or enjoying a meal at a restaurant, you can expect complete strangers to come up to you and comment on your bump. Plus, if that was not bad enough, everyone seems to assume that you do not know everything, so they burden you with tons of advice.

There is more to contend with than morning sickness – You are probably already aware of the fact that morning sickness is one of the most common pregnancy symptoms. However, there are other symptoms you are probably going to experience as well. You may need to stock up on incontinence supplies because the bladder can become very weak during pregnancy. Furthermore, you can suffer symptoms like heartburn too. Everyone reacts to being pregnant differently, so be prepared for your body to do some weird things!

You will cry… a lot – Another aspect of being pregnant is the crying. You will cry a lot. You won’t be crying for rational reasons, such as the annoying health symptoms mentioned above or the fact that you are worried about the pregnancy or being a mom. You will probably cry for the most random reasons, from something you are watching on the television to making a tiny, inconsequential mistake at home, like cutting up an apple when your son wanted to eat it whole!

Your brain turns to mush – Last but not least, a lot of pregnant women also end up feeling like their brain has turned to mush. The intellect you once had seems to vanish. Sometimes you start a sentence and then you can’t finish it because you don’t remember what you were trying to say.

As you can see, there are a number of different things that a lot of people are surprised to discover once they have become pregnant. Hopefully, this guide has helped you to become a little bit more prepared for what lies ahead. From becoming public property to dealing with a few unwanted side effects, there is a lot to deal with! It is important to know that you are not alone.
