I cook a lot of dinners in my house – probably about 90% of the dinners that we eat. Cooking that much takes a lot of time and a lot of planning, especially with three kids in the mix, so I’m always on the lookout for things to have on hand for night where I just need something quick when I’m strapped for time. I recently got an e-mail from The Insiders about the new Tyson Meal Kits. I’ve seen these in stores like Walmart and Target, but I hadn’t paid much attention to them before now. The Insiders sent two free product coupons and allowed me to choose two meals to try for my family.
The first Tyson meal kit that I chose was the Crispy Chicken Pomodoro Dinner Kit. This kit is crispy chicken breasts with rib meat and Italian flat beans with a tangy red sauce.
This is the instruction panel that includes a ton of information: the kit components, cook times and instructions on how to cook everything. It’s very cohesive and easy to follow and I found that the cook times were really accurate.
This is my completed Chicken Pomodoro dinner. I did add some mashed potatoes to this.
When it comes down to it, this kit is well put together and is easy to make. It’s a very quick meal, which is exactly what I need for those rushed nights. My only real complaint is that this Tyson meal kit comes with an “entree” and one side. I normally make my meals as an entree with two sides, so I did the feel the need to add my own side to make this a complete meal for my family.
The taste was really good. I was really impressed considering this is a frozen meal and we normally don’t eat a whole lot of frozen dinners.
The second Tyson meal kit that I selected is the Lemon Parmesan Chicken Dinner Kit. This dinner kit is roasted chicken breasts with rib meat with seasoned market vegetables and Parmesan lemon sauce.
This meal is made very similarly to the last meal and one again the timing recommendations of this very pretty spot on to reality.
This is the finished meal. Once again, I did add another side – this time a pasta. This meal was seriously delicious. Everyone loved this and this is a meal that I could definitely see myself purchasing again.
All in all, I’m pretty impressed with these Tyson meal kits. They were easy to make, they’re tasty, and they’re quick! I definitely plan on trying some of the other Tyson meal kits available.
These are available in frozen sections of grocery stores such as Walmart and retail for around $9.97 each.
